Soul Food Kitchen

So...Soul Food Kitchen...I'm obsessed. This cute spot was such a find and I am already planning my next visit.

The trip was decided last minute on a Saturday afternoon, and we were lucky to be squeezed in. Tip for anyone else wanted to check out Soul Food Kitchen out; book ahead of time or you might find it a bit tricky to get a table. Easily done through their website or, if you're unsure, by giving them a call. Located in Finnieston, the restaurant is on the west end side of central Glasgow and is nice and close to Kelvingrove park if you fancy a post-lunch stroll.

As per usual, I brought a non-vegan companion with me, so the vegan restaurant review is totally unbiased and trustworthy. Walking in the restaurant is very aesthetically pleasing, with a few inspirational quotes and veggie people of interest put on the walls. Did you know Lewis Hamilton is a famous vegan who has even introduced a vegan burger chain of restaurants? I definitely did not.

Now for the main event...the food. My partner in crime (and best flatmate), Molly, tried the "Soul Bowl". A healthy bowl of goodness filled with smoked tofu, chickpeas, turmeric baked cauliflower, tahini dressing and much more. I, on the other hand, opted for the "Gut-Father" burger. I would say for anyone thinking of trying this, more than likely one burger patty is more than enough. Double stacking may not be advised, whether you feel a missed breakfast qualifies you or not. The hearty burger was unreal, even the chips with aioli dip were a treat. Both of us thoroughly enjoyed our dishes and would highly recommend to anyone unsure of what to go for.

On to desserts. As you can see there are many options to choose from. Molly had a flat white with the "S'mores cake". The coffee was well enjoyed, no mean feat for someone that does not usually drink her brew with a plant-based milk. I chose the double chocolate cheesecake. I was equally, if not more delicious, though I think Molly would disagree.

Overall, beyond delicious, 10/10.
