Rose and Grant's Deli Café

If friendly cafes in the city centre of Glasgow is what you're after, then you are in luck! Rose and Grant's near Trongate are ready to serve you your next Instagrammable coffee (Covid willing of course). With an all-inclusive menu for a bang for your buck, Rose and Grant's offers a range of classic café grub to suit even the pickiest of eaters.

Halloween was on the agenda this week, with cobwebs and pumpkins dotted around. To add to the vibe, staff were also taking the holiday seriously, as we were served by our very own green witch server fully committed to the festivities. Just letting you know that it was very Covid safe too, with partitions between tables and a strict mask policy. Something which is comforting to be seen in food places nowadays.

The café sells brunch / lunch type grub. For the vegans, this means some breakfast classics, such as square sausage breakfast roll, the full breakfast and vegan french toast. Not forgetting of course, the beloved avocado toast. The breakfast menu is an all-day option. Until the kitchen shuts at 4pm (but you can sip your drinks till 5).

I visited around lunch time and decided upon the VLT for myself (a vegan BLT ofc), and my non-vegan lunch companion bravely decided upon the vegan Mac-n-Cheese pie with salad on the side, that looked so tasty I added it as a side dish to my lunch. Both were delishhh. It was my first mac-n-cheese pie and though i was admittedly sceptical, we both thoroughly enjoyed it.

We happened to be sitting across from the counter with all of the cakes on display and it was difficult to resist. Both not being able to say no to a classic tea and cake combo after the main meal, tried a slice of the victoria sponge. It was so good I double checked if it was vegan!

For any students reading this, they also offer a 10% discount so just remember to bring your student card with you. Overall, great stuff, 10/10.
